Carolina Spring Tournament
Date: Sunday, April 22, 2018, 8:40am – 5:30pm
Location: Room 107, Hanes Hall, UNC campus, Chapel Hill, NC.
Hanes Hall is on the UNC campus off of E. Cameron Ave., just south of Memorial Hall. Room 107 is at the south west corner of the first floor. Please view the location via Google Maps, here. Parking is available at various locations near the tournament site, but please observe all posted signs and park only in legally available spaces.
PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for first round pairing and an early start. To participate in the first round you must register before 6:00 PM Saturday, April 21st. After successfully completing the registration form below you should receive an email message confirming your registration, so please enter your email address correctly. If you do not receive the email confirmation, please email bobbacon@earthlink.net for a confirmation. Check in begins Sunday morning at 8:40 AM, and the first round will begin at 9:00. The tournament will wrap up by 5:30 PM.
Jeff Kuang will be serving as the Tournament Director. The tournament will consist of 4 rounds of play. Time settings will be 45 minutes main time, with 5 byo-yomi periods of 30 seconds each. This is an AGA rated tournament.
Participants should enter at their actual AGA ratings. Unrated entrants will be assigned a temporary rating after review by a strong player and approval by the Tournament Director. Unrated players will be paired at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director, Jeff Kuang.
Entry costs are $20 for adults and $10 for youths and students. Please renew your AGA membership online before the tournament. You must be a current AGA member to participate, and AGA membership or renewal forms will be available at the tournament. Please see the AGA website for information on AGA membership prices and their online form for new registrations or renewals. There will be generous cash prizes in all sections, with all entry fees returned as prizes. The prize money for any ties will be split between the tied players, as determined by the Tournament Director.
Lunch will be provided onsite courtesy of the Triangle Go Group. Please note any dietary restrictions in the comments section of the registration form.
